‘Received the book – thank you kindly – and have this afternoon read just so far your story, ‘Instance’. John, it’s fantastic, a rollercoaster of suspense all the way, a battle of minds, of will, deceit, telepathy, do you believe him, don’t you, does he believe you do or don’t. Class, John! Had me captured from page to page.
You are a great, great writer and don’t ever let anyone ever tell you different.
Believe in yourself more, John. That’s a classic piece of writing. I mean that sincerely.
Your man, his man – ha, ha – blew my mind away. I read it as your thought-process of the situation all the way, and whether he was reading your mind like you were his, and therefore communicating via telepathy, etc – very deep thought-provoking stuff, and the end’s “he knows what I want”, written to the lawyer, excellent, John, it really is.
I’ll read the rest of the book over the next week or so and return it as promised.’
